A wealth of good information was generated as a result of asking businesses questions, rather than just assuming that they will love nanotechnology. Of the 192 European companies surveyed:
- 90% of companies believe that nanotechnology will have an influence on their business,
- 55% think this will happen within three years
- 84% believe that nanotechnology will have a significant effect on their competitiveness
