Kafkaesque Nanotoxicology

The path of true love, it is said, never runs smooth, and neither do EU funded project negotiations. While many outside the process would imagine that writing the proposal is the toughest part, the contract negotiations, often involving scores of companies, academics and institutes often are as tortuous as, erm, EU budget negotiations?

We’re happy to finally report that the NanoTox program (sister of Impart) is finally getting off the ground, albeit somewhat late, and partners from Cientifica to Nanocyl, as well as hoardes of small furry creatures in Europe's forests, can breathe a sigh of relief in the knowledge that we can now get on with things.

Although we expect the usual cries of “too little too late” both the breadth and the depth of the work being done in this area by the European Commission should be held up as an example of the EU getting something exactly right.
