Boring Boring Chemists

After the recent blasts of hype, Philadelphia chemists are attempting to restore some degree of sanity as reported in the Philadelphia Inquirer. L. Louis Hegedus of Atofina Chemicals Inc hits the rather large (but amazingly easy for some to miss) nail on the head with his comment that nanotechnology "is somewhere between wild hype and settling down to reality."

Meanwhile Jeffrey DiPinto, business development manager for nanotechnology at Air Products & Chemicals Inc hammers home the point about nanotechnology that "it's a means to an end, not an end in itself."

It may be boring, but it's good business.
